Gestern abend lief zum Abschluss der "Summer Of Love"-Specials auf arte der Woodstock-Film. Geh mir weg mit Hippies, und so, aber... als ich den Film das letzte mal sah, war das vor ca 15 Jahren (25 Jahre Woodstock?) und ich hatte damals wohl ein paar Kräuterzigaretten passiv mitgeraucht, anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären, dass ich gestern zum ersten Mal völlig geflasht war davon, was einige der Bands damals auf der Bühne angestellt haben. Und am meisten hat mich dabei der Schlagzeuger von Santana, Michael Shrieve, beeindruckt. Sieht da aus als wäre er gerade mal 14 Jahre und schlagzeugt alles an die Wand - und hat Spaß dabei wie kein zweiter.

Well thousands of people have mentioned Woodstock to me. I kept trying to beat it with something else I did, but realized over time that this would never happen, and I learned to live with the fact, and accept that it meant so much to so many people, that you just couldn't fight it. It seemed I was 18 forever to them, and so be it. I'm 48 now and I've had a fruitful and long creative career but nothing has compared to my experience of playing in Santana. (...)
